About us

At Nova Countertop, we believe in providing great customer service, quality products, expert advice, and meticulous attention to detail on every job. These beliefs formed the foundation of our company, and they have kept us growing since 1991.
Nova Countertop opened for business on June 1st, 1991. We began with post-formed laminate countertops in 2500 square feet of warehouse space in the Burnside Industrial Park (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia).

As our business grew, expansion into Dupont™ Corian® solid surface production became possible. Volume gradually increased to the point where floor space became a bottle neck, and we eventually took over a neighbouring business – giving us 4500 square feet and the ability to expand our territory to include all of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Southern New Brunswick.

In 2002 we were approached by Dupont™ to become the first authorized Corian Quartz® installers in the Atlantic region. The product would be fabricated in Québec and shipped to us for installation. Sales continued to grow, and space became tight again in April of 2005. Unable to expand our shop any further at its current location, we began the process of moving our operations elsewhere.

In February of 2006, we purchased our own building in Burnside at #6 Trider Crescent, measuring 7000 square feet on the ground with a further 1250 square feet of mezzanine space. Moving into this building in June of 2006 was a huge undertaking for us, but has paid off time and again.

In the summer of 2007, we began setting up a section of our new shop to begin the fabrication of Dupont™ Corian Quartz® engineered stone product. For this new product, we needed new equipment as well as a separated shop area, as all cutting is done with water cooled blades and router bits. We feel that, while only providing the installation is good business, it is always better to control as many steps of the process as possible. The ability to fabricate in-house improves delivery times and reduces pricing – with tighter quality control.

Corian® Quartz is the premier surfacing in the market today, rounding out our great product mix when combined with our mid-range (Corian® Solid Surface) and lower cost (laminate) options.

By 2008, our expansion into Corian Quartz® had proven to be a major success. In order to increase production capacity and keep up with demand, we expanded our shop from its existing 7000 square feet to over 12000 square feet, and installed a 22’ x 16’ CNC router. With the capabilities the CNC machine has provided us, we began taking on bigger and bigger
jobs.

In 2020, we opened a second location in Stellarton, Nova Scotia. This new shop offers laminate countertop services in the Pictou County area. With 20+ colours in stock, and a comprehensive selection of colours from the major brands, our Stellarton location provides variety as well as fast delivery time on orders. This location also offers quoting and design services for our Corian® products (solid surface and quartz).

At the present time, our focus is on providing top-tier service for both residential and commercial projects, while staying true to what got us here – our original core beliefs of great customer service, quality products, expert advice, and meticulous attention to detail.
